An integrated management system

Our Integrated Management System is being developed in alignment with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001. It covers project management, design review, construction supervision and advisory services, and is founded on continuous improvement, legal compliance and responsible business practice.

Management is accountable for this policy. It is reviewed regularly and supported by training, consultation and leadership.

Customer satisfaction

Understand and meet requirements for quality, service, delivery, specification and cost.

Environmental protection

Efficient use of energy and resources, waste reduction, recycling and pollution prevention.

Health & safety

Eliminate hazards where possible and prevent work-related injury and ill health.

Objectives & performance

Measurable QHSE objectives, monitored and reviewed regularly.

Requirements for shipyards and suppliers

Every shipyard, subcontractor and vendor engaged on an Eastwinds project works to our QHSE Requirements. We may suspend work in the event of serious or repeated non-compliance.

Risks are controlled using the hierarchy of controls: elimination, substitution, isolation, engineering controls, administrative controls and, finally, PPE.

  • QHSE plan, risk assessment and a competent HSE representative on site
  • Permit-to-work, hot-work, confined-space and lock-out/tag-out controls
  • Certified lifting gear, with lifting suspended in winds above 20 knots
  • Fall protection above 2 m and properly inspected scaffolding
  • PPE for all personnel and visitors at the provider's expense
  • Material traceability and calibrated measuring equipment
  • Same-day written incident reporting with corrective action
  • No asbestos-containing materials, and 110% secondary containment for spill risks

Stop work authority

Everyone has the authority and responsibility to stop unsafe work, without fear of reprisal.

Drug & alcohol policy

No work under the influence. Testing applies to safety-critical roles and after incidents, in line with IMO and ILO standards, with support for voluntary self-reporting.

Whistleblowing

A confidential channel for concerns about fraud, safety or ethics. Reports are acknowledged within 10 days, and good-faith reporters are protected from retaliation.
